Angélique Noire by Guerlain is a unisex oriental-floral fragrance from the L’Art & La Matière line, created by perfumer Daniela Andrier and launched in 2005. It plays on the contrast between bitter green herbal notes and rich, warm vanilla, offering a sophisticated scent built around angelica.

Fragrance story:
Imagine a dance of opposing forces: bitter green herbs meeting luscious sweetness. Angélique Noire opens with sharp notes of angelica, pear, and spicy pink pepper, delivering an arresting green bite. The heart softens this intensity with jasmine sambac and a dash of caraway, weaving floral-spice patterns in the warmth. As it dries down, vanilla, angelica root, and cedarwood emerge, grounding the fragrance with creamy sweetness and woods. The result is a perfume that feels at once bold and elegant—an interplay of light and shadow, crisp and soft, green and sweet.
